Programs relevant to the bio-economy by province/region

A table showing the number of education programs relevant to the bio-economy nationally and also by province or region, by program area and level of study. In physical and life sciences and technologies, 550 undergraduate programs are offered nationally: 42% in Ontario, 19% in Western Canada, 18% in Quebec, 14% in Atlantic Canada and 7% in the Prairies. There are also 360 post-graduate programs offered nationally: 39% in Ontario, 28% in Quebec, 14% in Western Canada, 11% in Atlantic Canada and 8% in the Prairies. In architecture, engineering and related technologies, 70 undergraduate programs are offered nationally: 38% in Ontario, 27% in Western Canada, 23% in Quebec, 5% in the Prairies and 5% in Atlantic Canada. There are also 75 post-graduate programs offered nationally: 38% in Ontario, 38% in Quebec, 8% in Western Canada, 8% in the Prairies, and 8% in Atlantic Canada. In health and related fields, 30 undergraduate programs are offered nationally: 46% in Ontario, 21% in Quebec, 14% in Atlantic Canada, 11% in the Prairies and 7% in Western Canada. There are also 55 post-graduate programs offered nationally: 47% in Ontario, 24% in Quebec, 16% in Western Canada, 7% in Atlantic Canada and 5% in the Prairies. In agriculture, natural resources and conservation, 170 undergraduate programs are offered nationally: 26% in Ontario, 25% in Quebec, 20% in Western Canada, 16% in the Prairies, and 13% in Atlantic Canada. There are also 70 post-graduate programs offered nationally: 30% in Ontario, 22% in Quebec, 16% in Western Canada, 16% in the Prairies, and 15% in Atlantic Canada.
